A lot of the profile pics I have around town show me with curly hair. So people always ask when they meet me - why is your hair straight? Last asked by Emi on Lidingö. You really want to know?
Ok. My curls only look nice if I haven't shampooed for a week or two. The natural oils collect, keep my curls bouncy and tight. Which is fine for most occasions. But sometimes you just don't want to meet people with a head full of natural oil. So I shampoo, flat-iron, and have Pantene commercial-ish hair for a few days before I give up and start over. That's the hair cycle. If I have straight hair, it's because I didn't want to feel like a hobo when we got together. If I have curly, it's because I couldn't be bothered. Ha!
Also, people take me more seriously when I have straight hair - it's true! Because otherwise, I'm a lunatic. Fact.

LOVE IT! Thank you for that.
I'm glad I'm not the only one obsessed with my hair!!
Well, obsessed and obsessed. Mostly, I can't be bothered and look like a madwoman. Not exactly obsessed! But hopefully those who meet me with straight hair feel special.
What an interesting issue: are straight haired people generally taken more seriously than curly haired people? Hmmmm...
Haven't seen empirical studies on that subject though. Maybe I take myself more seriously when I have straight hair?!
